October 16, 2009 - The Edmond Sun

The Edmond Sun published a very informative article in their Oct. 16 edition that was the product of an interview between several Oklahoma Sponsoring Committee leaders and their staff reporter.  We'd like to thank the Edmond Sun for taking the time to talk with us and letting us respond to critics of our efforts.  We hope to speak with The Edmond Sun again in the future.

We'd like to note that the article quotes Stephanie Block, a well known detractor of the IAF, was as saying, "... once the IAF is established in a local area they push progressive political goals such as abortion rights, legalized euthanasia, human embryonic experimentation and altered religion." This statement is completely untrue and unfounded; no IAF affiliate has ever taken action on any of the previously mentioned issues.  It's unfortunate that individuals like Ms. Block who fabricate information, draw innuendo and intentionally mislead others can get an audience in today's heated political climate, under the guise of conservative values.  The Oklahoma Sponsoring Committee is neither conservative nor liberal - we reflect the values of our member congregations and are simply "pro family". 

NPR Features "The Nehemiah Project"

On October 20, 2009, National Public Radio did a segment titled "Low Cost Brooklyn Housing Sees Few Foreclosures".  It's a great example of how an IAF affiliate is helping families in their area.
