The agenda for the Oklahoma Sponsoring Committee is to be set by its member institutions.
While most organizations begin with an issue or a plan to try to get members to support a particular issue, the member institutions of the Oklahoma Sponsoring Committee are holding hundreds of individual meetings and small group conversations that will surface leaders and create an agenda of issues that come from the families in this community. It’s local families in local congregations working with local public officials and civic leaders to take on some of the metro area’s most difficult challenges. It is through these conversations and through our actions together we reknit the frayed social fabric in our communities. We are working together to build stronger more stable communities to insure that each member of our communities has their innate dignity valued and respected. Any action to be taken by the Oklahoma Sponsoring Committee must be in harmony with every member organization's doctrine and teachings. This is common among all affiliates of the Industrial Areas Foundation. For example, each IAF affiliate contains Catholic parishes, therefore no IAF affiliate, anywhere, takes action on issues that conflict with Catholic teachings. |
